Bylaws of the Mira Costa Model United Nations Booster
Club
Article 1 Name
- This organization shall be known as the Mira Costa Model
United Nations (MUN) Booster Club.
Article 2 Objectives
- A.Support the Mira Costa High School Model United Nations
program.
- B. To promote fund raising activities for the benefit of
the Model United Nations program.
- C. Sponsor social activities for memebers of the MUN program
and the community .
Article 3 Membership
- A. Membership in the Model United Nations Booster Club shall
be made available to any individual, family or corporation which
supports the Model United Nations program at Mira Costa.
- B. Membership dues may be charged.
Article 4 Government
- A. The government of the MUN Booster Club shall be under
the supervision of the Executive Board.
- B. The Executive Board will consist of the President, Vice-President,
Secretary and Treasurer. The organization may choose to incorporate
future officers on an as-needed basis.
- C. A representative from the MUN staff will serve on the
board in an ex-oficio capacity.
- D. All officers of this Club shall be members in good-standing
of the Booster Club.
Article 5 Elections
- A. The election of officers shall be held at the annual spring
meeting.
- B. The newly elected officers shall assume their duties at
the new academic year.
- C. If a vacancy should occur in one of the elected positions,
the Executive Board shall fill the vacancy for the remainder
of the unexpired term.
- D. All standing chairmen, if any, shall be appointed by the
elected officers.
- E. No electer officer shall serve more than two (2) consecutive
terms in the same office.
Article 6 Offices and Duties
- A.President
- 1. shall preside over meetings.
- 2. shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees
of the Booster Club in order that the objectives may be promoted.
- 3.shall serve as an ex-oficio member of all committees.
- B. Vice-President
- 1.shall acta an an aide to the President
- 2.shall perform the duties of the President in his or her
absence.
- C. Secretary
- 1.shall keep minutes of General meetings.
- 2.shall assume the duties of the President and Vice-President
in their absence.
- D.Treasurer
- 1.shall collect, deposit and disburse the funds of the Student
Travel Account Fund
- 2. shall keep accurate records of all transactions
- 3.shall prepare an annual financial statement for the Club
- 4.shall pay all expenditures as authorized by the Board
- 5.shall present monthly cash balances to the Board
- 6.shall be responsible for securing two (2) signatures (Treasurer
and MUN staff) on all expenditures.
Article 7 Meetings
- A. General meetings will be held a minimun of twice a year
(spring and fall).
- B. Seven (7) members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction
of Business at the General Meetings.
Article 8 Basic Policies
- A. No part of the Net Earniings of this Club shall inure
to the benefit or be distributed to its member, officers, or
private person(s). except if the Board would authorize the payment
for services rendered.
- B. All monies (funds) are to benefit the Mira Costa Model
United Nations Program.
- C. Upon dissolution of this Club, after paying all or adequately
providing for the debts and obligations of the assocition, the
remaining assets shall be distributed as voted by the majority
of members present at any duly constituted meetings for the befit
of the Model United Nations Program.
Article 9 Amendments
- A.The bylaws or any article thereof may be amended or repealed
by a 2/3 vote of the members present at any duly constituted
meeting.
